The issue of ignorance?
Question by ChickenTheif: The issue of ignorance?
Unfortunately, it seems like we have not learned a single lesson from the 2000 and 2004 elections. When will “small town” America come to realize their own hypocrisy? Government assistance, teen pregnancy, drug addiction, High School drop-out rates are among the highest in states which taxes are the lowest namely red “conservative” states. Lower taxes in a time of war and this will undoubtedly lead to more social issues.
Taxes are the price for civilized society. In California we do not need to carry guns because we pay a bit more for trained professionals we call police officers, we pay a bit more for good roads, bridges, and freeways, we pay a bit more for our children’s education. In California we have Cal Tech, Berkley, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCR, UCD, UCSC, USC and a few others im forgetting to mention all these schools are in the Newsweek’s top 100. We have not only federal aid but our state provides grants not to mention countless scholarships. Because we Californians invest in each other by paying a bit more on taxes we able to put our kids through these schools which produce engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, etc.
“Small town” America I love you people but you keep electing these people who do not benefit you. Cutting taxes in a time of war will lead to unprecedented poverty in America stated by leading economists at UC Berkley. They send your kids to die for other people’s freedom.
Democracy was not established overnight my “small town” friends. First there must come the John Lockes, Rousseaus, Hobbes, Humes, etc then must come a conviction a “lust” for democracy, a need, an urge, a “right” by the people of Iraq for democracy. This must come first before the fight, the revolution. This revolution cannot be won by or fought by other nations it must be done by the people of Iraq only then can it stand a chance to survive.
The issue should not be LOWERING or INCREASING taxes it should be about effectively distributing and utilizing the available money. Increasing when needed decreasing at other times.
LeAnne … sorry I have to cite credible sources for now since I don’t have direct contact with God. Maybe ill ask Bush to ask God since he gets his info from “a higher father.”
The results are evident LeAnne look up the statistics . CA is a world economic power, we produce more doctors, lawyers, scientists than any other state. We have the highest college educated people living here. Why do you think immigrants come to CA and not Tennessee lol (other than the racism issue)?
