free drug and alcohol rehabs: Free Drug and Alcohol Rehabs – They Do Exist – Learn How To Find Them!
Although there are several thousand free or almost free drug and alcohol rehabs within the nation, finding them when you need them can be very problematic!
Most people don’t think much about drug rehab until they need one, and when they do, the challenge of making such an important decision quickly can overwhelm. It’s tough for anyone, but at least those people with comprehensive private health insurance have the luxury of choice. For those of us without good insurance and without the means to self finance a stay at rehab, we often have trouble finding any at all!
Searching in Google doesn’t much help. These free rehabs are listed, but they tend to be buried below so many thousands of for profit and very expensive rehabs, that few people will ever find them. Secondly, since all drug and alcohol rehabs seem very reluctant to put pricing information on their websites, you can’t even tell who offers affordable care and who doesn’t!
So what can you do?
Firstly, if you want to get help you can. It doesn’t matter how much or how little money you have, there is someone ready to help you get over your drug or alcohol addiction.
The first step to finding an affordable or free place of drug treatment is to contact your state substance abuse agency, a division of the state social services board. The rules of eligibility differ from those for Medicaid, and even if you do not currently qualify for Medicaid, you may qualify for subsided drug treatment.
Secondly, ask around in the community. These free or almost free rehabs don’t often have the money to advertise their services, but there will be certain types of people who will likely know of them. Doctors, counselors, clergy and community health care workers will almost certainly know of your local options, and if they don’t know, they will know someone who does!
Thirdly, go to an AA or NA meeting. If you’ve never been and you have a drug or alcohol problem, you may find what you’re looking for there! These are people just like you. Ordinary people who struggle with drugs or alcohol and they tend to be very approachable and helpful to other people trying to better their addictions. Ask around at the meeting and you can be guaranteed that somebody knows of your local options.
In every state of the nation, there are drug and alcohol rehabs willing to extend care to those in need, free of charge. Rehabs that don’t care about your insurance or the size of your wallet, and with people working within that genuinely care about your recovery. You may not get a daily massage and live in luxury, but you will find what you need to get better, and surely this is the more important thing!
Once you make the decision to get help, you take a giant step forward to a better life. Don’t let the difficulty of finding a free drug or alcohol rehab discourage you. They are out there, they will help you, and if you don’t have any money, they’ll help you for free.
