Question by jack s: San Diego Police Department hiring process….?
I’m mainly concerned about the polygraph test for san diego pd. What types of questions do they ask you and are you disqualified for past drug use, what types of things are dq’s etc?? I really want to join the department but I’m hoping that a little thing called high school won’t knock me out of the running.

They’ll ask you questions that you answered on your PHQ. Past drug use depends on time since last use, number of times used, types of drugs, sale versus usage, etc. Smoking marijuana usually DQs someone for 3 years versus harder drugs which DQ you for 4-7 years. In some departments, sale of drugs is an automatic DQ no matter how long ago it occurred.
